Ross had to

look after two persian cats, one dysfunctional and the other more loving in nature. Ross was also supposed to attend an interview in London but concern for the cats led to the cancellation of the interview and the needless search for the cat that didn't want to know him. The cat was fine but Ross is still looking for a job. At least Ross is now almost employed and the cats are now happy - they have their owner back.
